Windmill Winery Wedding
This couple holds such a rad place in my heart and I so enjoyed out time photographing Jacoba + Nick’s Windmill Winery Wedding! I connect on different levels with each of our couples and thats the cool thing about my job is getting to create a deep relationship and see the personal sides of each and every couple and it means so much to me! Jacoba + Nick are one of my favs in an entirely new category! We spend the day with them at The Windmill Winery in Florence Arizona! Here is how they met!
Ironically enough both nick and I had friends that decided that they had enough of us burying ourselves in work to get over questionable partners so they took our phones and downloaded the app Bumble. It hasn’t been but a few days when I saw Nicks pictures. I liked that he had honest photos of hobbies that intrigued me like hunting, dirt biking, outdoorsman and guitarist. We both felt the as though the other had an honest profile and bing we matched. We spent many nights building a friendship through phone conversations and text. As the weeks turned into a month Nick began asking to meet. After many sweet ways of arranging a meeting I finally gave in on a sunny day in October. We went for a hike in the gorgeous Bay Area Hill’s chatting and laughing. He was the perfect rustic gentleman and I my slightly free spirited self. It fit from the get go. Words never stopped folding. We were honest and completely open with one another from day one To this day after three months of marriage it is the glue that holds everything together unconditional love and honest communication. We continued on for the year with the usual things, holidays, meeting the parents, and of course passing the pet test 😉 Nick found out he had a move to Arizona for work and we saw this as an opportunity to put our love to the test. We made many flights back and forth to each other that year between CA and AZ until May of 2017 over Memorial Day weekend when Nick decided we should take a trip to Nevada to meet his godson and brother from another mother. After the weekend with them I must have gotten the seal of approval because nick took us for a drive to an overlook south of Reno and proposed on top of a painted ying/yang while looking at Washoe Valley. It was spontaneous and he didn’t have ring but I got it about a month later. Even though he didn’t have the ring, being a spontaneous proposal made it that much more meaningful and endearing as we embraced with the beauty of the Sierras behind us.
Jacoba + Nick I cannot thank you enough for letting me be a part of your special day! I wish you the absolute best and many years to come! Keep it real Jacoba, like you always do!
